I want to thank Waldo for his craftsmanship in creating for me new arm prosthesis. I appreciate his personal attention to details and for working closely with me to build it exactly the way I want it. It fits well and adequately meets my needs. Also, I appreciate him and his receptionist Ann's professional and caring attitude.

I lost my left arm in 1958 when I was eight years old, in a traffic accident. My father was retired military. My medical and rehabilitation was thru the VA Hospital.

My artificial arm was made at Walter Reeds Veteran Hospital in Washington D.C. I had the best in the field of prosthetics because my amputation was extremely high and fitting of prosthesis was difficult. Over the years of my military dependency I always had the best technology. When I became 21 years old I had to go to the private sector for new arm prosthesis I never quite received the masterful care I use to get from the military hospitals until I was recommended to Tampa Bay Artificial Limbs by friend who was head of Prosthetics at a major Veterans Hospital.

Waldo has made me a Myoelectric Arm and a conventional arm. I thought I would never be able to use an electric arm because of how high my amputation was, but with the help of Waldo and his staff I have become proficient with the Myoelectric arm.

I consider Tampa Bay Artificial Limbs not only one of the best technology wise, but they are also extremely caring towards their patients. Waldo has a special insight into the amputees needs because he is an amputee himself.

I would highly recommend Tampa Bay Artificial Limbs to anyone and everyone who needs help. I would be available for any consultation of demonstration of their excellent work.

At the age of fifty three, after suffering for almost two years from surgical infection that was gotten during a hip replacement, I was finally told that there was no hope of saving my leg. After getting several opinions, I had finally resigned myself to the inevitable; my leg was to be amputated at the hip, a total hip disarticulation. Hoping that the pain would be gone and knowing that my life would be changing maximally, I proceeded with the surgery. My surgeon told me that I would probably never walk again because I was too old to learn how to use a heavy and cumbersome prosthesis. My life, already at a low, came crashing down even more. The depression became overwhelming, and I soon decided that I needed to do something for myself. I searched the Internet for hi-tech prosthetics and was impressed with the Otto Bock Prosthesis. After contacting them and asking for information and technicians in my area who were certified to work with Otto Bock, I made an appointment with Waldo Esparza at Tampa Bay Artificial Limbs. From the time I first spoke to his office manager, Ann, until current, I have been totally impressed with their caring, compassion, professionalism and their willingness to help. Waldo has been very informative and supportive, both with physical disability and my emotional attitude. He has become a friend as well as "medical marvel" and has painstakingly helped to create a new self-image for me. I have a long way to go, but I am relentless efforts in my recovery and their efforts to make mea "whole" person once again!
