About Us
Waldo O. Esparza, BSCP, is a Florida licensed Prosthetist and was certified in Prosthetics by the American Academy of Prosthetists and Orthotists in 1981. He is a left Transfemoral amputee. Waldo has been in practice for over 29 years, with the last 20 years in the Tampa Bay area.
A graduate of the University of Washington Prosthetic and Orthotic program, Mr. Esparza is a former member of the world renowned Sabolich Prosthetic Clinic, and held the position of Upper Extremity Specialist for Florida Nova Care. He has been the director of prosthetic departments for other facilities in the Bay area as well.
Mr. Esparza's subspecialty is Upper Extremity Prosthetics, as demonstrated by his extensive lecturing and publishing on the subject, nationally and abroad.
Waldo earned a Bronze Medal in Sailing at the 1996 Paralympic games held in Atlanta.
Carol Gerlach, our Office Manager, has enjoyed a career in the health and insurance industry for 25 years. Carol has extensive background in management, claims payment, administration, insurance billing and accounts receivable and payable. Carol was born and raised in Tampa. She is married to Tim Gerlach and they have two lovely children. She is active in sports and social charitable events in the bay area.
Steven Schmoke, our Prosthetic Resident under NCOPE, is currently
working on his certification in Prosthetics. Steven finished his Orthotic
Residency in Daytona Beach and is currently a board eligible Orthotist and
will be sitting for his Orthotics boards in August 2012. Steven is happily
married with a daughter and enjoys teaching his daughter how to play hockey.
He is originally from Michigan, a former elite level hockey player that
still enjoys the sport as well as reading, traveling, and coaching.
